History of Mobile Legends Professional League
Since its official launch in July 2016, Mobile Legends has been making waves in the esports world, with Moonton fueling the competitive scene through a series of smaller tournaments. But the real game-changer came in 2018, when the first Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) regions were officially established!
The first MPL seasons kicked off in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Myanmar. At the time, Malaysia and Singapore shared a league—until Singapore finally got its own independent season in 2021.
MPL’s early seasons weren’t just about local dominance; they also served as a gateway to international glory. The top-tier teams from each inaugural MPL season advanced to MSC 2018, the second official Southeast Asian Mobile Legends championship. That year, Aether Main, the defending champion from MPL Philippines Season 1, crushed the competition and claimed the title, cementing the Philippines’ reputation as an MLBB powerhouse.
Then, in 2019, Moonton shook things up once again by announcing a franchise-based model for MPL Indonesia. This revolutionary move brought massive benefits to teams and players, including shared revenue, financial security, and commercialization opportunities—elevating MLBB esports to a whole new level!

All MLBB Professional League Winners
Mobile Legends Professional League events are where champions rise and history is made! These intense battles determine the top teams from each region, sending them to the biggest stages in Mobile Legends esports.
The ultimate goal? Glory in one of three major international championships:

Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines
When you think of Philippine ML:BB Esports glory, you think of Blacklist International. Since their first ever win in Season 7 of the Mobile Legends Professional League, they’ve cemented their legacy by claiming the championship after an intense finals showdown against Execration—who later went on to win MSC 2021.
Despite their MSC 2021 setback, Blacklist bounced back stronger, dominating MPL PH Season 8 to become the first-ever champions of the inaugural franchise league season. Their victory also made them the second team in MPL PH history to win back-to-back titles.
Their dominance didn’t stop there. Blacklist International took their momentum to the global stage and conquered M3, becoming World Champions. Their unmatched synergy and innovative strategies solidified them as the top-performing team in MPL PH history.
However, on January 21, 2025, Blacklist International officially disbanded their team, closing the chapter on one of the most legendary dynasties in MLBB esports.

Their true breakout moment came in Mobile Legends Professional League ID Season 3, where ONIC made history by achieving a perfect season—an unprecedented feat with not a single team managing to defeat them. This dominant performance solidified their place as the kings of MPL Indonesia.
